Samsa Films is an animation studio with locations in Colombia, Argentina, and Spain. We offer animation and post-production services for film, streaming, and television. We have collaborated with brands, agencies, and production companies on international projects for more than ten years. Our focus is on blending techniques: 2D and traditional animation, 3D animation, traditional stop motion, composition, VFX, and post-production. We also integrate artificial intelligence into our workflows. Our compositing and VFX team is highly specialized in consistently combining styles and techniques.

Animation Festival: ANIBIA is the place where we celebrate, meet, and share artistic and cultural creation, specifically the diverse forms of audiovisual animation. It takes place on a rotating basis throughout Colombia and is affiliated with international initiatives that share this objective and promote the dissemination of animated works.

We blend the narrative strength of stop-motion animation with sustainable production practices. We collaborate with creators and brands from different countries, and our films have premiered and received awards on the international festival circuit.

Ann Lopez Angulo
Visual artist, director, animator, illustrator, and educator. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts from the Universidad Pedagógica Nacional de Colombia and specialized in Cinematography (Director of Photography for film) at the ENERC - Escuela Nacional de Experimentación y Realización Cinematográfica in Argentina. Over the past ten years, she has developed her career in paper-based stop-motion animation through her independent studio, Yuyarikuna Films, creating short films focused on environmental conservation, ancestry, migration, and social issues. Her work features a distinctive aesthetic inspired by Latin American visual culture and graphic traditions, as well as her deep connection to nature as her primary source of inspiration. She has collaborated with clients and NGOs around the world, including World Wide Fund for Nature, BirdLife Europe, Oceana, Meta, and Nickelodeon, creating high-impact pieces such as the “Restore Nature” campaign, which reached the European Parliament. In 2022, she was a finalist in the international “We Are Water” competition in Spain with her short film Hijos de la lluvia (“Children of the Rain”), which addresses the water crisis in the Colombian Caribbean. The film is based on the worldview of the Wayuu Indigenous community and highlights the importance of water within their ancestral traditions. In 2024, she was awarded a grant to create the animated mini-series En mochila al rescate: sin animales no hay historias (“Backpack Rescue: Without Animals There Are No Stories”), a stop-motion series about endangered animals in Latin America. Her short films and music videos have been selected for and showcased at animation festivals around the world.
